Tasteless FOX

I am disgusted with FOXNEWs.com.  The link to the front page article on the hostage standoff in Bailey, Colorado not only takes you to article, but to an advertisement for Dexter, a Showtime TV serial killer series.  This is a tasteless and insensitive pairing.  Contact FOX and tell them what you think.

Pope on a Hot Eye

Here is an interesting article by Dr. Mohler addressing the Pope’s recent spanking by Islam.
(The Pope, the Prophet, and the Crisis of Truth)
It is also interesting that the statement referencing their violent nature was protested by violence and threats of violence.  I wonder how many “non-violent” Muslims will tow the line as Islam gains power across the west?  How many will participate?  (Or at the very least turn a blind eye to the violence done to neighbors that they have had peaceful coexistence under Western civilization?)  Just something I wonder about.

Eschatology Charts

Thanks to Justin Taylor for this.  While I am certainly not a Dispensationalist and some of the finer points are disputed, his assessment is correct.

If you want a helpful overview of dispensationalism, historical premillenialism, postmillenialism, and amillenialism, then these charts (prepared by Mark Vander Pol) should be helpful.

Ive Been Tagged

I was vaguely aware of something referred to as being "tagged.” Now my understanding has been enlightened and it is my turn. The thanks for this dubious honor belongs to my friend, Travis Hilton (no relation to Paris).

4. One book you’d want on a desert island: (in addition to the Bible) Calvin’s
Intitutes

5. One book that made you laugh:
Nitty-Gritty Grammar, Edith Fine & Judith Josephson

6. One book that made you cry [or feel really sad]:
A Man Called Peter, Catherine Marshall

7. One book that you wish had been written:
Errors in Covenant Theology’s View of the Nature of the Church

8. One book that you wish had never been written:
The Purpose Driven Church, Rick Warren

9. One book you’re currently reading:

10. One book you’ve been meaning to read:
Brothers, We are not Professionals, John Piper

Now tag five people:
Ed Elliott, for getting into this vice of blogging; Brad Williams, cause everybody wants to know what hillbilly read; Jeremy Weaver, just because I like your blog; Dr. Wayne McDill, so Travis and I can see what makes him cry; Dr. Bruce Little, what do professors think when their students bring questionable bottles in their class and what book would a philosophy teacher take to an island. These last two may not count because they do not blog, (I just don’t know enough bloggers.) but maybe they will post their lists as comments.
